Before You Start

  • Create a restore point.
  • Update your GPU and chipset drivers.
  • Backup anything critical.

1) Remove Startup Clutter

Open Task Manager → Startup apps. Disable anything you don’t need immediately at boot. This alone can shave 10–30s off startup time.

2) Storage & Indexing

Run Disk Cleanup, clear temp files, and reduce indexing scope to commonly used folders. On SSDs, keep 10–20% free space for wear leveling.

3) Power & Performance Mode

On laptops, use Balanced mode for battery and Performance mode when plugged in. On desktops, a High Performance plan can help sustained workloads.

4) Optional Tweaks (Safe)

  • Enable hardware accelerated GPU scheduling (newer GPUs only).
  • Turn off animations if you prefer snappier feel.
  • Use a reputable uninstaller for stubborn bloat.
Result: Faster boots, fewer background apps, and smoother multitasking — without breaking updates.
